Having always been a shoe person, I felt compelled to create a series dedicated to fashioning funky shoes. Inspired by designers such as Vivienne Westwood, these shoes represent what I would love to wear if I didn’t have to consider practicality in my choice of footwear.
The shoes provide a chance to use wild colour combinations and to integrate varied patterns in the glass. The shoes are lampworked soda lime glass and are mounted on mirrored shelves which are edge glued to a clear textured glass backdrop and displayed in a black shadow box frame. The graphic backdrops symbolize anything from the slats on the wall in a shoe store to lacy wallpaper lining a dedicated shoe closet.Available in one size: 10”W x 10”H.
