Having always managed to incorporate trees into my artwork, I have to stop and wonder why. I believe that trees represent the stability and strength I have craved throughout my life. This particular rendition of the tree can also represent the ability of woman to transform things through her inner strength.
The Goddess, slightly hidden in the copper trunk, transforms the small root beads into beautiful, more intricate beads in the branches. Within the Goddess Tree, I have focused on the colour gradation in the beads from top to bottom. The beads are lampworked soda lime glass mounted on a copper wire tree which is displayed in a black shadow box and backed by clear textured glass and a mat, which creates a subtle texture in the background.
